Common questions

Is this therapy?

No, and it is not a substitute for it. Shado is for the space between doing nothing and therapy — before it, alongside it, or on its own. If you’re in crisis, you deserve real-time help; in the US, call or text 988.

Is this AI?

Yes. Shado uses AI to read what you write, reflect it back in your own words, and find relationships between things you described at different times. It does not diagnose you, it does not give advice as an authority, and it does not claim to know anything you didn’t tell it.

What if it gets something wrong about me?

You say so, and it comes off your map — along with everything that depended on it. Every statement Shado makes about you can be opened to see exactly what it came from, and corrected or removed.

Do I need the app?

Your Mind Profile works on the web. The ongoing product — daily reflection, your Guide, Journeys and your Map — is the iOS app today.

What happens to my Profile if I don’t subscribe?

It’s yours. You can come back to it, correct it, export it, or delete it — whether or not you ever subscribe.

Can I cancel?

Yes. Web subscriptions are managed from your Shado account or the Stripe customer portal; App Store subscriptions from your Apple account. Cancel before a trial ends and nothing is charged; cancel before a renewal and the next charge stops. Your Profile and your writing stay yours either way.
