Terms of Service
Last updated: March 1, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Shado (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
Shado is a self-reflection and personal growth platform that uses AI to create psychological profiles and facilitate guided self-inquiry sessions. Shado is not a substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or medical advice.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
4. Data & Privacy
Your psychological data, journal entries, and session transcripts belong to you. We will never sell your personal data to third parties. You may export or delete your data at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
5. Subscriptions, Trials, Cancellation, and Refunds
Shado offers subscriptions on the web through Stripe and in the iOS app through Apple’s App Store. Available plans, prices, trial eligibility, renewal dates, and taxes are shown before you confirm a purchase. In the United States, the intended new-customer web offer is $99.99 per year with a 14-day free trial, $14.99 per month with no trial, or $4.99 per week with no trial. Offers and eligibility may differ by platform, market, or customer cohort; the terms shown at checkout control your purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. If you begin the 14-day annual trial, you will not be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the annual subscription begins and renews at the price and interval shown at checkout. Monthly and weekly plans are billed when purchased and renew at their stated interval. Canceling stops future renewals; unless the checkout terms or applicable law say otherwise, access continues through the end of the paid billing period. Canceling during a trial prevents the trial from converting to a paid subscription.
For a web subscription, manage or cancel through the Shado account or Stripe customer portal. For an App Store subscription, manage or cancel through your Apple account; Apple processes App Store billing and controls App Store refund requests.
Except where required by applicable law or stated at checkout, payments made through Stripe are non-refundable and no credits are provided for partially used billing periods. App Store refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s rules. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
6. Not Medical Advice
Shado is a self-reflection tool, not a healthcare provider. The Service does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or mental health condition. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional or call a crisis hotline immediately.
7. Limitation of Liability
Shado shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.
